The latest shootings took place on Friday, March 26, in which two people were shot on Quincy Street in Springfield, according to Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh.
According to Walsh, a ShotSpotter alerted officers about the shooting at around 8: 25 p.m.
The second man was taken privately to the Springfield Police Department first and then rushed to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
The second shooting victim was also taken to Baystate for treatment.
Both are in serious condition.
Shootings earlier in the week left two dead and several injured, officials said.
Following the latest shooting, Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, along with Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood called on the state police to assist and knockout a recent uptick in what they called, "gang violence shootings."
"It is time to turn up the heat on all these gang members and make them very uncomfortable, as they have done to my residents and business community," Sarno said.
"All these recent shootings are all gang, gun, and drug-related. All are very familiar to our SPD and our court system as repeat violent criminal offenders and none show any cooperation in stopping this bloodshed."
Clapprood said state police will be doing extra patrols in certain areas.
